Armour Systems were commissioned to manufacture a case to display a rare coin from the reign of King Richard III (1483-1485). The Half Angel coin is the centerpiece in a new exhibition about the King with a special feature on the coin’s remarkable local discovery.
The coin is a rare find with only seven to be known in existence and it will be the only one on display anywhere in the world. The exhibition will not only highlight the importance of such a find but place it within the wider context of the King’s short and infamous reign.
The showcase commissioned allows for the visitor to experience a 360 view of the coin with supporting interpretation placed directly in front of the coin. The coin is protected both from unwanted access and from the agents of deterioration.
The exhibition design was completed by James Dibble of Equal Studio Limited.
On display from Saturday 2 October at Buckingham Old Gaol.
